Twitter used to be a sort of surrogate newsroom/barroom where you could organize around ideas with people whose opinions you wanted to assess. Maybe you wouldn't agree with everybody, but that was part of the fun.
Yes, twitter has changed. Does that mean it is doomed? No but it isn't the same interactive creative place it once was. Elimating third party software developers from the platform has taken away the opportunity for it to be used in different ways. It has moved toward a commerce model that will soon eliminate the creative audience. Right now it feels like Target. Sooner or later it will become a Home Depot or a Walmart. So sad.
